Aftermath

It looks like California’s proposition 8, which enshrines discrimination in the California constitution, is going to win by about 53%. I am sick, depressed and mad. Very, very mad, I want revenge. Two quotes come to mind, Joe Hill’s when facing execution, ‘Don’t mourn, organize’ and Otto von Bismarck’s, ‘The best defense is a good offense’ The Iron Chancellor was right and we queers have been playing defense far too long.

So I think it’s time to go on the attack, we have two years to organize and put our own pro equality measure on the ballot. If we don’t win we need to keep coming back until we do win. I have zero experience organizing but hopefully some of you out there do and will help get the ball rolling. Death to discrimination, on to victory!

In two years I'm going to be holding signs as is my husband and my kid.

Kid sign going to read "Leave me out of our hate vendetta, yes on prop ___"

My sign going to say "My heterosexual marriage doesn't need your protection. It based on love, not hate."

Hubby sign going to say "Separate but Equal. wrong in the 60's and still wrong 50 years later."

sucks.
