Happy Hooligans Holiday

One of the favorite tactics of religious apologists is to claim that if one is not familiar with all the sophisticated religious arguments from various religious scholars she can not possibly have a valid criticism of their religion. This particular fallacy has been named The Courtiers Reply by PZ Myers who thoroughly demolishes it. Still this has not stopped various apologists from trying to refute Dr. Myers, the latest is no more successful theny any of the ones who have gone before. The only really novel point this bozo makes is to assert that the demand for evidence is "hooliganism". Soto celebrate we happy hooligans I give you Hooligans Holiday by Motley Crue;

Some Better News

With the theocrats whipping themselves into a frenzy we face a major fight to stop their anti-marriage amendment this November. Luckily we got some good news recently, a new Field Poll shows us winning 51 to 42 percent. The best part of it is that there is a generation gap that works in our favor;

Reflecting stark differences in generational attitudes, 68 percent of voters between 18 and 29 years old said they favored allowing same-sex couples to marry. Fifty-eight percent of voters 30 to 39 and 51 percent of voters 40-49 favored gay marriage. That compared with 47 percent of voters 50-64 and 36 percent of those over 65 who supported the idea.

While this is very good news for the future it does emphasize how important the get out the vote drive is. A high turnout and we win, a low turnout and the fucking theocrats win. Volunteer at Equality for All now, it’s going to be a tough fight but we can win.

Not Good News

While we face an uphill battle against an anti-marriage amendment here in California things aren’t going well in Europe either. The EUobserver reports that the European Commission has abandoned its plans to protect gays and lesbians against discrimination under pressure from Germany. Apparently it is German business interests that are opposed because of the ‘cost’, yeah the cost of not being bigoted assholes.

A Holocaust in the Making

The president of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, has in effect declared war on his countries gay and lesbian citizens. This religious crackpot has declared;

"An ultimatum to homosexuals, drug dealers, thieves and other criminals, to leave The Gambia or face serious consequences if caught.
"The President equally warned all those who harbour such individuals to kick them out of their compounds, noting that a mass patrol will be conducted on the instructions of the IGP and the director of the Gambia Immigration Department to weed bad elements in society.

He has also charmingly pointed out;

"He stated that a law is in place regarding this unlawful acts tougher than the Iranian laws and warned those involve in this infamous activities to desist from them."

This is the logical outcome of the eliminationist rhetoric of bigots like Sally Kern. The difference here is the hateful thug runs the country. We must act now to save the LGBT community of Gambia from being murdered. Write your congressman, senator, the president and your local newspaper. Raise holly hell now before the killing begins.

Fear and Loathing in California

The theocrats fear us especially now that the California Supreme Court has upheld the equal protection clause of the state constitution. I turn I loath them, they are power hungry thugs. As so many would be dictators they realize that one of the most reliable roads to power is to scapegoat and demonize an already despised out-group. We are the out-group of choice for the native American theocrat. They will cynical exploit any and all negative stereotypes about us to foment hatred and facilitate their road to power. Make no mistake, they really do hate us and would love to put their eliminationist rhetoric into practice. They also are really afraid we are winning. So because I’m a gender queer trans woman with a hart full of hate I’ve volunteered with Equality For All to beat their miserable anti-marriage initiative n November. I urge any readers I may have to do the same, donate if you can. I want to see them dying in mass from apoplexy on November 5th.

colorfull and realy gender queer

I new there was a reason I liked mollusks, Nudibranchs are all intersexed and beautifully weired.

Yay Us

The California Supreme Court ruled for marriage equality today. !

The next step is to join Equality California to defeat the probable November ballot initiative to write discrimination into the California constitution. We also need to pressure the Assembly and Senate into passing, for the third time, a marriage equality law and pressure Arnold into singing this time.

This is a major victory but the war is far from over but we will win.

Is life worth so many questions?

I do sometimes wonder, it seems so easy to go through life never questioning gender roles, sexual roles, religion or pretty much of anything else. Just accept that there are only men or women and that men are better at some things and women at others. That every one is straight unless led astray. A nice simple sunny little world, one that falls apart when you start asking questions. Nasty questions like is the gender I was assigned at birth because of my anatomy really correct? Is it wrong to find men, women and those that present as neither sexual attractive? Are there really only two genders? Seriously ask questions like these and the simple life goes down the drain. Is life worth the anguish trying to answer these questions can bring?

I think it is because for me the alternative was either a self induced lobotomy or a killing depression. So I ask the questions, try to find answers and endure the pain so hopefully I can live my life rather then some one else’s version of my life.

Projection are us

Emproph over at Pam's House Blend pointed out this very revealing video from a recent Coral Ridge Ministries broadcast. Take note of their projecting what they do on to 'homosexuals', the ACLU and general anybody who disagrees with them .

A special shout out to Tony Perkins you are a theocratic thug. You do want to impose your narrow views on everyone else. The legal groups you mention fight for discrimination and prejudice unlike the ALCU which fights for freedom, even yours.

Oh and Tony Perkins not only are the religous NOT being discriminated against but every candidate now a days seems to need to shout their religous devotions from the roof tops to be considered a viable candidate.

To all of you and those who follow you, fuck off and die.
