Why Are You So Angry?

That is a question that dominant groups always seem to ask subordinate groups when the subordinate group question their subordination. It is a question that implies that the people fighting for their rights do not have a legitimate complaint, otherwise why the need to question the source of their anger. It is also the question one would ask of a child thus reducing the subordinate group to the level of petulant children. It is a question that comes from a place of unacknowledged power and privilege, a place that cannot understand why anybody would be unhappy with the status quo. That the status quo disproportionately favors the dominant group over all others is considered just the natural order of things.

Of course is isn’t the natural order, it is the result of human actions designed to favor their group over all others and that is why people outside of the dominate group are angry. They can see that the status quo is a artificial construction that can be changed to make things better for them. They came by their anger legitimately, I can by my anger legitimately, so don’t you dare question it.

I Can Write Again!

Well sort of, we’ll see how well this goes.

I’m experiencing a financial meltdown thanks to two pay cuts so far this year. I really am facing bankruptcy and foreclosure, but that’s not what I want to write about. A side effect of sudden onset poverty is that I cannot afford HRT or a new wardrobe. I am still going to be presenting as mostly male.

So how does that affect my sense of my gender? Not at all because guess what, we are not the things we do to present the gender we are. We use hormones and undergo surgical procedures to bring our bodies into line with our sense of self but that sense of self does not depend on anything external. It causes us considerable stress when we cannot present to the world as we are but we live with that as best we can.

So I will continue to be a Gender Queer Stone Femme. I will present myself to a hostile world as best I can. It does not matter how the world sees me, I am still me.

A Brief Meditation on 9/11

The attacks on September 11th, 2001 were planed and carried out by Egyptians and Saudis, the financing came mostly from Saudis. There is evidence that Ben Laden wasn’t in Afghanistan at the time of the attacks but in Pakistan. So why did we attack Afghanistan and Iraq?

Oh another rarely mentioned fact, the Taliban offered to extradite Ben Laden if we could just give them some evidence to support our request. Instead of evidence we gave then bombs and a raid by rangers, who missed their target as usual.

Just something to contemplate amid all the patriotic hoopla.

A Very Belated Apology

Way too little and way too late but the British Government has apologized for it’s inhuman treatment of Alan Turing . Of coarse this is the same country who drove him to suicide fifty-five years ago by chemically castrating him for the crime of being gay. This was the British Governments reward to a man who did more then any general to win the war for the allies. Still it’s something if not much. and maybe it will remind the theocratic fucktards that they owe the freedom they are abusing to a gay man.

A Random End To A Random Week

The hart full of hate line I like to use was lifted from the late great Hunter S Thompson, one of my favorite writers. He was also a complete maniac, another fine quality I admired him for.

Speaking of favorite authors you should really read Ecology of Fear: Los Angeles and the Imagination of Disaster by Mike Davis given the recent Los Angeles fires. You will find it explains a lot about why Los Angeles seems to be such a center of disaster.

Think all the people throwing around terms like fascist , communist and socialist should really look them up and see what they actually mean.

For myself I’m a anarchist and a proud member of the Industrial Workers of The World . o let’s smash the state with a song in our harts,

Saturday Night Hate Fest

I’m just an ageing Gender Queer with a hart full of hate and I intend to prove it tonight. Most of all I hate myself now with that out of the way on with the hate fest.

I hate religion, holly book are just cheap, badly written justifications for the way things were written buy and for the then ruling scumbags. The books are such badly edited hodgepodges that they can be used to justify anything mostly the beliefs, ego and prejudices of some low rent would be messiah. They’re Just another goddamn money stealer.

All those tea baggers who want ‘their’ America back the America you want is a colonial settler state founder on conquest, genocide and slavery, you are welcome to it.

I hate the privileged, entitled jerks who so love to victim blame. The jerks who say ‘she deserved it’ when anything happens to a woman who wasn’t married, barefoot, pregnant and afraid to leave the house, I want to fuck you in the ass with red hot poker.

I hate Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and all the other fat white boys who don’t give a rats ass for their followers. The greedy selfish slobs who don’t care what damage they do so long as they’ve got theirs.

Just How Incoherent Is Ze?

The following makes no more sense from this side believe me. This is born of frustration and despair; I’m at the end of my financial tether and have no idea what to do. I’m still locked in enough to the old gender stereotypes and some level that I feel as the ‘man’ of the house it’s my duty to provide for the two of us. I sometimes wonder if my gender journey is in some part fueled by my feeling of failure as a ‘man’. Or, perhaps, my feelings of failure are because I never really was a ‘man’. Who the fuck knows, I sure don’t.

I HATE the keyboard on this Alienware and long for my little MacBooks beautiful keyboard. Alas the MacBook is no more and I can’t afford a replacement.

Yes I’m jumping from topic to topic I said I was Incoherent.

White male privilege may yet bring the country to ruin. It was the arrogance and sense of entitlement of the white gay males that ran the No on 8 campaign that took us from a 54% lead to a 52% loss and then blamed that on a black community they had made no effort to reach out to. It is the adroit exploitation of the fear of loss of white male privilege that may yet bring the Republicans disastrously back to power. If the Republicans do succeed in regaining power I expect it to be somewhat less successful than the Bourbon restoration in France was.

Enough I must sleep now.

Yet Another Late Night Ramble Through My Mind

While marriage equality is very important, not the least as a symbolic issue, I know so many wonderful trans-gender and gender queer folk in a wide verity of families so I ask what about them? What about people and families that don’t fall into the neat divisions of man, woman, two people only? I know poly-amours families and many gender queers have chosen new families after our old ones disowned us. Again I have to recommend this book, Beyond (Straight and Gay) Marriage: Valuing All Families under the Law (Queer Ideas).

Los Angeles Is Burning

I grew up in Los Angeles, a true native son now daughter. One of my most vivid childhood memories is of a brush fire coming over the crest of the Santa Monica Mountains while at grade school. This was the day after the school had been closed because of the Bel Air fire then raging. I watched as water bombers forced the fire back. Since then I have seen far too many fires too fucking close up.

While I have never been given an evacuation order I have been put on stand by for one several times. Southern California is mostly a Mediterranean Chaparral ecology and large scale fires come with the territory. Those of us who live here have made peace with the idea that we could be burned out at any time with no notice.

Now Los Angeles is burning again. This looks to be one of the really bad ones where the combination of drought, heat and winds create a monster that can incinerate a neighborhood in seconds. Maybe it will continue to burn through the mountains and spare the cities along the mountains edge or maybe it will sweep down and wreck havoc in those cities. Now chaos rules, the smallest change in wind can save or doom a city. In Los Angeles the Lords of Entropy hold sway for now.
