Damn, I missed this totally. This is a cause that is very important to me, far too many of my trans siblings do survival sex work. In the absence of any legal protections against job and housing discrimination sex work is the only way to pay for food and shelter.
Sex workers who wanted their rights most especially their right to self-determination and autonomy started this movement in India. The best and most effective social justice movements are always started by the people fighting for their own rights rather then started by someone else ho ‘knows’ what’s best for them.
