Maybe There Is No Real Me

This is a therapy day for me; I have recently been working on digging down into my mind to dig up the buried stuff in my mind. The thing is I haven’t really dug up much if anything. This has me wondering if there is anything to dig up, maybe there is no ‘real’ me. It could be that what you see is what you get, just a bundle of surface phenomena. I’ve been told I’m shallow and self centered, essentially quite selfish, maybe that is true.

On the other hand maybe I don’t want to dig anything up, I might not like what I find. I do have a mean and manipulative streak not at all pleasant. It could be that the selfishness is the core of me.

Or I could be totally wrong again. Stay tuned I’ll post more after therapy.

Why I Tweet

I was introduced to Twitter by my best friend Alexander Yoo . I joined to keep in contact with him since I live 90 minutes north of Los Angeles where he lives. I followed others ze was following because I knew most of them at least peripherally. It gave me a social life of some sort and a sense of connection, which is hard to come by when you’re queer and live in a small town. Over time I met other people and have come to value their conversation. I enjoy interacting with them, supporting them and being supported by them. It’s that sense of community and the ease of use that keeps me on twitter, not vanity or self-importance. I really don’t care what the trendy or famous do or do not do, I’m here for my friends.

Somebody's going to have to suffer. If I don't transition it will be me. If I do it will still be me and Lyne as well, my marriage will probably not survive. It will also very likely mean a end to any contact with what's left of my family. I am really too much of a coward to make this decision but it haunts me all the time.

Sunday Night Randomness

You may have noticed a tendency to randomness, chaos and anarchy in my writing, this is due in part to the influence of the writings of Michael Moorcock . He frequently deals with chaos and the Lords of Entropy in the Elric chronicals starting with Elric: The Stealer of Souls (Chronicles of the Last Emperor of Melniboné, Vol. 1). Then there is The Cornelius Quartet: The Final Program, A Cure for Cancer, The English Assassin, The Condition of Muzak which deals with social and political anarchy. He also created the concept of the multiverse as exemplified in this collection, A Nomad of the Time Streams. His books had a profound influence on me just out of collage, especially the first of the Cornelius novels, The Final Program. At the climax, in more ways than one, of the novel Jerry Cornelius merges with Miss Brunnes to become the perfect intersexed being. How I longed to be that person, that is still my ideal. His exploration of possibilities and beautiful attacks on authority helped open my mind to other ways of thinking. Go read some of his books, you will enjoy them.

Obama Worse Than Bush?

Well at least some one in the justice department is making a claim that not even the Bush administration did, that the United States Government can not be sued for any acts of illegal surveillance ever . It’s bad enough that the Obama administration is continuing to defend the illegal actions of the Bush administration but they are actually extending their claim of unfettered executive power. It does sort of explain why Obama is refusing to investigate the violations of the constitution by the Bush and company, he wants to set a precedent so his own administration can be given a pass for whatever they do.
